Township Board
The Lakefield Township Board serves as the township's governing body, making policy decisions and overseeing township operations. The five-member board consists of the Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and two Trustees, each elected to serve four-year terms.
Meeting Schedule
The Township Board meets on the third Monday of each month at the Lakefield Township Hall, located at 21050 Lakefield Rd., Merrill, MI 48637. All meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and participate in local government.

Public Participation
Residents are welcome to address the Board during the public comment portion of each meeting. To speak at a meeting, please:
- Sign in before the meeting begins
- Limit comments to 3 minutes
- Address comments to the entire Board
- Speak on matters of township business
Meeting Materials
Meeting agendas and minutes are available at Township Board meetings. Previous meeting minutes can be requested through the Township Clerk's office.
Special Meetings
Special meetings may be called as needed to address time-sensitive matters. Notice of special meetings will be posted at the Township Hall and on the township website at least 18 hours before the meeting, as required by the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
